I am embarking on an adventure these next two months.Â
Bags are packed, apartment is sublet, responsibilities are shifted, some paused.
My itinerary awaits me as some kind of dance ~ potential partners on the path, time for indulgent solos, and space for improvisation.
»»» Love is the impetus, the driving force.
I will be celebrating the wedding of two people I love dearly, sinking into movement and dance communities that feed my body and spirit, and getting to know inherited and adopted lineages: Italian famiglia, nuns, and land-based spirituality.Â
All of this flight possible because of the grounded love and connection of my home place and beyond ~ Cleveland, family, community, and loves.Â
Starting my journey off in New York City, the self dissolves into the fabric of the world. My insignificance, a little place in the family of things: it is enough. Simultaneously, I let this all feel important, recognizing the risk and bravery of my choices, seeing clearly my growth and shifts.Â
Shoulder to shoulder with strangers, fellow humans, I take in the beauty of public transport and dense public space. Garbage, piss, beautiful people, skateboarders, lost souls included. What a treat! and quite a shift for the nervous system from the past few years.Â
I wonder, what happens when we lean into anonymity and insignificance when amidst a crowd? Of being a small piece of this big wide world?
A simultaneous de-centering and centering within.
I embark on my travels with acknowledgement and gratitude of the privileges and support that make it all possible.Â
I marinate in the feelings of leaving places and people I love while feeling more connected to them all.Â
I step forward with intention and openness to the unknown.Â
I intend to share regular dispatches from my travels ~ digital postcards. Writing and sharing as a means of weaving connection, inspiring each other, and shapeshifting.Â
If you would like to support my pilgrimage, consider contributing to my espresso fund. Any contribution is received with deep gratitude. Â
till soon!
ciao,
